Self-drive is a great way to get around Karamoja Uganda. A fair bit of the main roads in Karamoja are recently provided with new tarmac, but still a great amount of roads made out of marram. So before hitting the road is highly recommended consulting the community about the status of the road ahead to avoid any surprises due rainfall or road construction activities.
